Kasaragod, July 4, 2023 - Under the 32K BN NCC Payyanur, cadets from Government College Kasaragod actively participated in the Puneet Sagar Abhiyan held at Kasaragod beach. Their mission was to clean the shores of plastic and other waste materials, while also raising awareness about the importance of cleanliness.
The enthusiastic cadets gathered at the KSRTC bus stand in Kasaragod at 8:30 am. From there, they embarked on a walk to the beach and arrived at their destination by 9 am. Spending approximately two hours on the beach, the cadets dedicated their efforts to cleaning the shoreline.
The primary objective of this campaign was to propagate the message of the "Importance of Clean Seashores and Riverbanks" among the local population. Additionally, the initiative aimed to preserve and safeguard the environment for future generations.
Upon completing their cleaning activities, the cadets assembled all the gathered waste in front of the Kasaragod lighthouse. Subsequently, they returned to their college, arriving at approximately 12 pm. The municipal corporation of Kasaragod will soon collect the accumulated garbage bags, ensuring proper disposal of the waste materials.
The NCC cadets from Government College Kasaragod have set an inspiring example through their active participation in the Puneet Sagar Abhiyan. Their commitment to preserving the environment and spreading awareness about cleanliness serves as a testament to their dedication and sense of responsibility towards society.
Such initiatives not only contribute to the immediate goal of cleaning the beaches but also foster a culture of environmental consciousness among the local community. The collective efforts of the cadets and their commitment to a cleaner and greener future are commendable.
